Biography: 
Originally from Ethiopia, Dr. Hurisso earned a Diploma and Bachelor of Science in Plant Science from Jimma University College of Agriculture and Hawassa University College of Agriculture in 1998 and 2004, respectively, followed by an M.S. in Soil Science from Wageningen University in the Netherlands in 2005 and a Ph.D. also in Soil Science from Colorado State University in 2011. Dr. Hurisso's current postdoctoral research at The Ohio State University focuses on soil health tests that measure the labile (i.e. biologically-active) organic matter.
